Syracuse Auto Expo Charity Preview Totals

The grand total raised from the Auto Expo Charity Preview was revealed at the annual luncheon today. At the November show a total of $203,272 was raised to benefit local charities.  The 13 participating charities and organizations, received their checks today and will be putting the money to work to help the less fortunate in Central New York. The top fundraising charity is David’s Refuge Inc., which raised over $32,000. David’s Refuge provides a place of respite free of charge for parents and guardians who care for children with special needs or life-threatening medical conditions.

The 20th Annual Auto Show Charity Preview held on November 1st is chaired by Jim Barr VP/GM of Crest Dealerships and Gino Barbuto, Owner of East Syracuse Chevrolet.  The Charity Preview committee once again raised underwriting from generous sponsors that enabled the charities to receive 100% of their ticket sale proceeds. The 20-year total for this event is over 3.5 million dollars.

In 2017 two Charity Previews were held raising over half million dollars. The Auto Show that would have been held in 2018 was moved to the Fall of 2017 to make way for the 2018 USBC Open Championships.  The 100-day tournament will bring over 40,000 bowlers and their families to Central New York with an economic impact of over 75 million dollars to the area.

Syracuse Auto Dealers represents dealers across the Central New York area.  The organization has been producing the annual Syracuse Auto Expo since 1908.   The Syracuse Auto Expo is one of the longest-running auto showcases in the country.
